The job
Fine Homebuilding and Simpson Strong-Tie wanted to show a real pergola build from start to finish. Builder Jeremy Kassel built a hemlock pergola with Simpson Strong-Tie’s Outdoor Accents hardware.
What we made
A five-episode series for Fine Homebuilding’s members: design and layout, post bases, raising the posts, beams and rafters, and bracing. There was also a 10-minute overview film for the sponsor, and stills for the print magazine.
How we made it
Four days in the field in Albany, NY. Andres ran the main camera and shot the stills, working with Fine Homebuilding’s executive producer and a second shooter.
